I was diagnosed with Hirschsprung's disease at the age of fifteen. Before
that, I could never go to the bathroom, and had to go into the hospital to
get clean outs. So then one morning I woke up and had a fever, nausea, and
couldn't control my bowel movements at all. So I ended up going into the
hospital and after two full thickness rectal biopsies, was diagnosed with
Hirschsprung's disease. I had to get a loop colostomy, and so far I have had
it for 3 months. I am due to get reversal surgery in about 3 more months. I
usually have lots of pain in my stoma during the morning, and also sometimes
during the day time. Is this normal? Also, what should I expect for the
reversal surgery? |
